Redwood's Reindeer Dash 2022 We raised £377 for Treetops Hospice

  • Coronavirus update

    Tue 17 Mar 2020
    Dear parents/carers

Following the update from the government last night, the following measures will take effect from today:

Any child with a temperature of 37.8 degrees or above or a new and continuous cough must now stay away from school for 14 days.
If anyone in the household has the same symptoms, all those living in the house must also isolate themselves for 14 days. This applies whether it is an adult or child with the symptoms - everyone must stay at home for 14 days.

We appreciate that this is a worrying time for families but we would like to reassure you that we are doing everything we can to ensure our pupils and staff stay safe while they are in school.

Many thanks for your continued support during this unprecedented situation. We will continue to keep you updated when we have any new information.

    Dear Parents and Carers,

    RE: Coronavirus Update

You may be aware that Public Health England updated advice last week with respect to Coronavirus. As it stands, our guidelines are for school to remain open whether or not we have a suspected or confirmed case of the virus. They also ask that you stay at home for 7 days from the start of the following new symptoms:

    • A new, persistent cough
    • And/or a temperature of 37.8 degrees or above

Please be reassured that we are doing everything we can to keep the children and adults safe in school. Children are washing their hands regularly, we have ensured all classes have hand sanitiser available and have also installed dispensers in both dinner halls. We are currently reviewing all events coming up in school and will inform you of any changes.

Staff and student absence is currently low. However, we are making plans for partial opening of school should staff absence increase.

In the event of an enforced whole school closure, communication in the first instance will be via text message, email and the school website. Further to that, communication with your class teacher will follow, with regards to supporting your child’s education at home. Please make sure that the school have the most up to date email address for you and that you are signed up for class Dojo.

I shall continue to issue you with the updates from the Government. In the meantime, please do take your on-going welfare and advice from Public Health England.

    Yours sincerely,

    Lyndsey Shepherd

    Head of School
