At Redwood we strongly believe in working together with our families so that the best possible outcomes are achieved for all our children.
Families are invited into school on a regular basis to share activites and social events with their children. These include class assemblies, "come and read" sessions, curriculum information events about teaching phonics or maths, science activities and craft events. Learning is also shared via Class Dojo and through "challenge" activities that are sent home in addition to regular homework and link to topics.
Redwood Loyalty cards
To encourage engagement, families are given a "loyalty card" for each child at the beginning of the school year. Each time a family member attends an event the card is dated and signed. All completed cards are entered into a draw at the end of the year to win a prize. These have included a bike, outdoor play equipment and vouchers.
Children in Nursery get to take home a bedtime bag. Inside there is a cosy blanket, a teddy bear and a wonderful book. Our families love these bags and have said some wonderful things about them.
Comments about the bedtime bags shared with Nursery families
"Last night Gian snuggled up in the blanket and hugged the teddy, listening to the bedtime story. He was so happy and excited. He even tried to read the book by himself. I am so grateful for the help and support to develop good routines and memories."

Dojo message
Hello Mr Swinn
....I just want to share this joy that I have experienced just now. My Nursery boy has experienced massive interests in maths since I joined the course and I have started to use some materials with A. I never actually taught my boy the number line model but he just took some bits from my bag and then showed me what he did with them. This has shocked me so much to experience how much the positive impact that this course has brought to our children. So thank you so much to you and Miss Smith
"Thank you so much for another great game. We had lots of fun playing ladybirds"
A really enjoyed her bedtime bag. She loves to look at books and recognise trees and flowers etc. It was a really nice idea for kids. They can learn much better this way. I really like this idea. Kids can understand and learn with this idea. Thank you for your support with our kids.
