We had a wonderful time at our Come and Read Picnic, celebrating the importance of reading and the positive impact of parental engagement on children’s learning.
In the lovely sunny weather, children and their parents gathered outside under the shade of the trees to enjoy some quality time together. With a biscuit, some fresh fruit and a good book, everyone relaxed and enjoyed sharing the pleasure of reading in the beautiful outdoor setting.
To begin our event, Mrs Dobson led a Read Write Inc. phonics lesson, giving parents and children the opportunity to explore the phonics strategies we use in school and learn how they can support reading at home.
It was lovely to see families enjoying books together, sharing stories and building confidence in reading. Events like these help to strengthen the partnership between home and school, showing that reading can be both fun and a special time to spend together.
Thank you to all the parents and children who joined us and helped make our Come and Read Picnic such a lovely success!
