Mini Leaders is a year-long programme in which Year 5/6 students learn basic coaching skills.

The children learn interpersonal skills, problem-solving skills, communication skills and leadership skills. 

Throughout the year, the children work alongside Derby County Community Trust to develop these skills and provide lunchtime activities to encourage the children to be active.

Our mini-leaders worked diligently all year, culminating in our Mini-leaders Festival. 
They devised their own games and trained children from other schools.

This year our mini-leaders were chosen by Derby County Community Trust to take part in a case study. Throughout the year, Divine was chosen to discuss his journey as a mini-leader. 
 

Here you can see both Divine and Corey training some of our Key Stage 1 children. They even created their own games.
