Welcome to Barn Owls' school page. This is my sixth year at Redwood Primary School and I am excited for the forthcoming year ahead and to help every child on their road to success.
On this page, you will find out all the latest information to do with the current school term. We also use Class Dojo to reward children with their achievements linking with our SHINE motto. Please let me know if you need a Class Dojo login to access your child's page so that you are informed about the latest news and their progress.
If you have any questions, please contact me on Class Dojo and I will ensure to reply within 24 hours.
P.E. is every Thursday afternoon. Our PE unit for this academic term, and for the foreseeable future, is Swimming. Children will be required to bring their swimming kit to school: swimming costume, swimming hat, towel and flip flops/sliders.
Children will be required to take off all jewellery.
Homework is handed out on a Friday and is due back the following Wednesday. Children are to return their homework in their appropriate homework folders. The Maths folder is blue and the English folder is yellow.
We are going to trial uploading homework onto Purple Mash so there may be weeks where children will be required to use an electronic device to complete this at home. All children will have received their Purple Mash login.
Children receive one Class Dojo for every piece that is handed in on time (so keep this up).
English homework often focuses on grammar and related to the objectives that we have learnt in the week.
Maths homework often focuses on the objectives covered in the week to recap their learning. This will help me to understand every pupils' understanding and how I can give further support.
If your child is struggling with a piece of homework, I am more than happy to go through this with them during break or lunch time.
Reading is a fundamental skill, like writing, which will help children with their future. We currently do 30 minutes of whole class guided reading every morning. However, it is vital that children read at home. Every time a child reads at home and has their record signed, they receive 5 dojos.
